Alhaji Olatunji Odusanya, a retired Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Lagos State, has urged governments to create the enabling environment to attract more foreigner investment into the country.
Odusanya said this on Friday in Lagos during an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
He spoke on the sideline of the Eid-el-Fitri prayer observed at Igbogbo Playing Ground, Ikorodu.
Odusanya said such investments by foreigners would go a long way in reducing the level of unemployment in the country.
“Nigerian industry stakeholders cannot do it alone they need the support of foreigners.
“The first thing to do is to stamp out corruption. Let people know that if they bring their money into the country they can invest and make profit,’’ Odusanya told NAN.
He urged Nigerians to continue preaching to youths to be patient and industrious.
Odusanya also urged Nigerians, both Christians and Muslims to understand that they serve the same God and maintain cordial relationship.
Also speaking, Alhaji Abdul-Fatahi Olutusin, Chief Imam of Ansar-ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Ikorodu Branch, reminded everybody that there would be a day of accountability to actions taken on earth.
“Every Muslim is expected to, after the expiration of the month of Ramadan, display what he or she learnt during the 30 days.
“We should see every one as our brother or sister; that is the only way we can leave in peace, ‘’ Olutusin said.
Also speaking, Alhaji Kamorudeen Adeyemi, Secretary, Ansar-ud-Deen Society of Nigeria, Ikorodu branch, told NAN that the significance of fasting was to increase love for the poor.
